Paper Abstract:      This study examined how preservice teachers enrolled in an instructional technology class applied the course content and concepts when they taught technology to youths or senior citizens in the community through a course-embedded service-learning project. Seven preservice teachers volunteered to assist creation of an animation or a digital movie in a youth after school program. Six taught computer skills that they thought the senior citizens needed the most. All from the youth program and five from the senior program consented to have their reflections used for data analysis. All participants stated that the service-learning experiences contributed to their professional development. Eleven out of twelve participants said that their confidence to teach with technology increased as a result of their service-learning experiences.
